Read MoreThe Interfaith Council of Halton invites you to an engaging and educational evening exploring fasting traditions across different faith communities. Many religions observe fasting as a meaningful spiritual practice that reflects themes of devotion, self-discipline, compassion, and reflection.
This gathering will bring together representatives from various faith traditions to share how fasting is practiced in their communities, its spiritual significance, and how it shapes personal and communal life. The evening will include short presentations followed by an open discussion, offering participants an opportunity to learn, ask questions, and deepen their understanding of diverse spiritual traditions.
Whether you are curious about how fasting is observed during Ramadhan, Lent, Yom Kippur, Nineteen Day Fast, Chaitra Navratri, Uposataha Days, or other sacred times, this event provides a welcoming space for dialogue and learning.
